Another week, another bunch of crazy episodes of The Young Pope and Taboo to dig into. There was a common theme (somehow), and the guys make sure to give it the attention it deserves (NO SPOILERS!). Then Pat schools Chris on Ghost in the Shell (sorta), and they review the only thing matters from the film’s new trailer: THAT BODY SUIT.
After another hiatus (hey…get used it, folks), Pat and Chris are back with their signature takes, patented burns, and award-winning manlove you’ve come to know and love. They review the recent Marvel hit, Doctor Strange, and fawn over that sweet, sweet Cumberbatch. Then, they don their black hats and board that looping train to Westworld to discuss the finale and the first season as a whole. Finally, your old pal Top 5 is back as the guys discuss the “Worlds” they’d most like to visit.
…to keep talking about Westworld! After a little chat about Billy Bush and Luke Cage (not simultaneously), Pat and Chris dive into the second episode of HBO’s new Sunday night drama. Then, in the conclusion you’ve all been waiting for, Chris gives his reviews of In the Heart of the Sea and Deadpool. Needless to say, Pat’s heart is once again broken. Chris is unrepentant. They make up. It gets weird. You know….the usual.
Mike & Rus are back, just in time to discuss the time-travel riddled Season 2 finale of The Flash! Apologies for the poor quality of Rus’s audio; he apparently doesn’t know how to work his mic.
With at least 5 speedsters in this episode and at least 3 instances of time-travel by at least 2 of those speedsters, Rus needs Mike’s help to get up to speed on both The Flash in DC Comics and on Barry Allen’s actions and motivations in this episode. The two discuss the implications of Flash’s actions on the growing CW’s DC superhero universe, and Mike threatens to turn his back on the show if there’s too much soap opera type human interactions in the Season 3 premiere this fall. Rus is all geek-giddy seeing 1990’s TV Flash, John Wesley Shipp, suited up as The Flash once again, but this time as Earth 3’s Jay Garrick Flash, who is inspired by DC Comics’ golden age Flash.
Run, Barry, run!
Chris and Chris are back! Following hot on the heels of their Oscars preview/wrap-up, the guys get to have the last words on the latest film offering from DC, including the irrelevance of Lois Lane, the questionable directional choices of Zach Snyder, and how to do a post-credit sequence the right way. That leads them directly into Marvel Universe territory, where Chris (listen to find out which one!) suggests that DC could learn a thing or two from its competitor. It’s a dirty bomb of Kryptonite thrown right into DC’s face!
The moment we’ve been waiting for all season has finally arrived. The Dolphins and the Giants play each other on Monday Night Football, and Pat and Chris discuss the crappy seasons both teams are having. Feel the apathy! Then, the guys discuss two of the latest movie trailers that dropped in the past week, Independence Day: Resurgence and X-Men: Apocalypse. Finally, Pat demands to know why Chris is less than whelmed by America’s Girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence.
We ramble, rant, and rave for nearly another two hours about Princess Bride, shitty drum-playing neighbors, the pros & cons of clenching your butt-cheeks during a spanking, Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek, J.J. Abrams, George Lucas, Hayden Christensen, Rambo prequels, and whole metric shit-ton more!!
Happy Holidays Everyone!*
*Just in case we are lazy asses and don’t make another ‘cast till 2016!
Thank You For Doing This! returns from hiatus following Chris’s multi-week journey around the world. He and Pat pick up right where they left off, touching on some TV (Fargo, Jessica Jones), Charlie Sheen’s health dilemma, and Ronda Rousey’s new jawline! Pat goes on to explain why he’s currently lacking whelm when it comes to the Captain America Civil War Trailer, and Chris returns serve in response to the new footage from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Then it’s time for another Top 5! The boys submit their Top 5 Movie Reboots We Want to See Happen, and then finish it off with some more Star Wars talk and a very special Tina Fey tribute!
